Flower care
Some arranging is needed on arrival. Flowers travel packed and may look tired at first. That is normal, and they lift within a few hours of the steps below.
- Fill a clean vase with fresh water and add the flower food as directed on the sachet.
- Cut 2.5 cm from the base of every stem, on a diagonal, with a sharp knife or secateurs.
- Strip any leaves that would sit below the water line, so the water stays clean.
- Ease off the outer guard petals on roses. They protect the bloom in transit and are meant to come away.
- Arrange in the vase and keep the water topped up.
- Re-cut the stems and change the water every two days.
- Keep them out of direct sun, away from heating, draughts and ripening fruit, which gives off ethylene and shortens vase life.
